also - i would really like to contribute to this forum with any 1p bargains i find too... is there a certain 'tecnique' to spotting the bargains or is it a case of literally scanning each item and coming across the 1p items by chance??? any tips would be very welcome. xx0

Hi sunshine, lots of the 1p bargains are end of season things a while after Christmas and Easter but others are discontinued things that sometimes have been gradually going down in price with a yellow RTC shelf edge label. And it has been known for new things to scan at 1p occasionally these are harder to get as usually put right very quick. A good tip is to look for things that have no SEL often a bargain to be had even if not 1p. HTHs0 -

Wombling is finding a TESCO receipt that someone has discarded (got blown away or left in the trolley) and the purchaser did not use a Clubcard. You then go to CS and get the unused points added to your account. Don't go too mad though or a CS trout will suspect you of Wombling! Nothing to do with Asda receipts but you can get one you have found checked on the Tesco vs Asda price checker!Keep SmilingSite member number 24

Apologies to everyone, If they did jump in the car to get the belgian chocs, the store I got them from had obviously manually adjusted the price and I got lucky. Really thought I'd found a nationwide bargain :-(
Just heard them talking on the radio news about the beer glitch from yesterday!0 -
Many thanks, thelurch! I was disappointed that only one other person has found the elizabeth shaw too. We just keep on trying though...
I did manage to get 2 cases of magners and 2 cases of becks before it ended. I also tried a different store as I felt conspicuous going in a 3rd time but by then it had stopped and I had to get a refund as I had "changed my mind".:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

am seriously !!!!!! off with tesco. i found some of the 1p tin pencil cases. i got 3, then got caught up in the beer glitch. 2 hours later i went back and tried to get some more pencil cases, these were for charit shoe boxes at xmas. and was told they aint on the system. i said i brought some 2 hours earlier, i was basically called a liar, i then produced my reciept. and was told "dont matter you still aint having them" they aint on the system so have to GO IN THE BIN!:eek:
how can tesco seriously chuck something in the bin, that aint outta date, and a customer is willing to pay cold hard cash for? i am ringing cs later . see what they say. i asl dont understand how something can come "off the system" in 2 hours. this was just after the beer glitch.life is like a loo roll. the nearer the end you get, the faster it goes.0 -

its disgusting that tesco would rather bin discontinued items rather than sell them off cheaply or donate them to schools/charities.0 -
