OMG!!! I'm soo excited! (Yes, I know I am very sad!)

I was just checking the storefinder to see if there were any stores on route for somewhere I'm going tomorrow and I noticed they do a tesco iphone storefinder app, it also tells you where abouts to find items in store which I thought would be handy, and as it's free I downloaded it :)

You can set a store as your homestore, then you can scan the barcode (or search for details) of items and it will tell you where they are in your homestore. So I scanned the nearest thing to me - 1p koko truffles and it showed as unavailable in my store - which I know to be true, then I tried the 1p roses which were again unavailable in my store - which I'm pretty sure is accurate to as they wouldn't let me buy the last 2 today so they have probably been taken off the shelves. Then I tried the sweetcorn (which had LOADS in stock yesterday) and it confirmed they were 8p (on offer) and gave me in store directions.

So, I'm hoping this app might be able to give us an idea weather a 1p item is available at our local. I don't have any other 1p items to try out, but if anyone else fancies downloading this app and trying to work out if it's telling us if things are in stock or not, or whether it just doesn't recognise 1p items?

On the above link, under the tesco logo is a 'view in itunes' button, click that and it will open the page on itunes for the app. In itunes, again under the tesco logo there is a button saying 'free app' click that and it will download it (only takes a second), then sync your iphone and it should be there :)

To sync your iphone, plug it into your computer using the usb cable (the cable from your charger, just unattach your plug) then it should sync automatically :)

OR on your iphone, open the app store, click on the search button, search for tescos - about 4 different ones will come up, you want 'tesco finder' click on it, then it will open a page with the description and in the top right hand corner there is a install button.

Let me know how you get one! :D

    Excellent find!

Looks like there are no 1p items at my local.

However, the light blue Harpic is listed at £0.50 in the app, and yesterday I paid only £0.12 for it. So just wondering whether the app shows the price at which the item is actually scanning at?

Thanks to all the OPs of the following as I managed to get around Poole.

18 Roses as shelf been restocked since my disappointment looking for them at weekend. :T
1 Lonley Rim block - sure was not there before.

Few packets of Sweet chilli nuts, which I tried this evening and can say thoroughly enjoyed them.

All the shelves have been empty of the sweetcorn but not given up hope yet. ;)

All the talk of Tesco related dreams and joining a support group, think I will have to be counted in for both of those. Dreamt last night that I found the Roses and this morning was thinking I have a serious obsession that needs to stop but had to laugh that someone else had been dreaming of Tesco last night too! :D

I did notice in one store I visited that on the top shelf there were quite a few cases of the Green Giant Organic sweetcorn that have discontinued stickers on, shelf was full too but they did scan full price at the moment. Maybe another to watch. :)

Yes, same for me with the harpic, but it brought up a picture of a different one? Although same barcode so not sure whats going on there. I brought the last 2 in my local today for 12p, but they could have been re-stocked as they have been in alot of shops.

Just in case any of you have seen the thread that Trattoria Verdi Spaghetti is 10p for 1kg, I have tried scanning it at my store and it is 40p. Still quite a good price and cheaper than the value variety. I'm still stocked up with some 2kg packets that were half price few weeks back so didn't go for this. But think would have been tempted if had been 10p!

    Morning everyone :)

Could I ask any new finds be put in blue if possible? The thread is moving so fast at the moment it would be easy for us to update the 1p / cheap lists if new finds were in blue. :)

All newbies - the list can be found here www.pennyitems.co.uk

On the Verdi Spaghetti - anyone know the barcode yet??

Thank you everyone for great finds :j
