well i was well chuffed tonight... went to two stores and got

35 harpic active all in 1 odour stop (12p each)

    30 boxes of roses (1p)

10 packets of the sweet chilli peanuts (22p)

found by luck at the back of the reduced section the 1 x princess tin, 2 x lamb mint aero sweets and 3 boxes of oxo cubes i was well chuffed....

but even better still, i could only find the roses in the bigger store and when i got to the self scan check out i was a bit worried as the sa was looking over, as i was scanning i heard a voice behind saying " i'll put them through as a job lot " okay i slowly replied. When she noticed the price she said was there anymore and I said no sorry... oh she said i would have liked some of them .... total then comes up to 30p ... i reach for my money and she goes oh hold on a minute, she went to help someone then came back to me ( i was worrrriiiied at this point) she then did something to the till and next minute money was coming out.... i have to admit i was confused but soon realised she actually paid the balance for me ...she turned and said you deserve it, i was shockkkkkkkkkkeddddd and said ohhhh but i need to pay you for them she said no please, its all sorted........still shocked i gave her some of the sweets, she said no im not allowed to accepted gifts, i even tried to give her the 30p .... i was totally stunned !!!!!!!!!!! so i walked out of the store thinking did that just happen ??????????????

so there are lovely sa out there but never imagined they'd pay for my little shopping basket....i am going to send a letter in to say what a lovely lady but obviously not about what actually happened, wouldnt want to get her into trouble !!!!

It was really strange with the truffles. I scanned a packet in my normal T's and they scanned at £2, definately the right bar code, Then went to another T's about 2 miles up the road and they scanned at 1p and they were identical!

Some stores reduced the truffles to £2 some time ago, maybe they haven't caught up.

Self serve till hint: If the £2 (or other price) yellow reduction label is over the normal barcode and the store sytem is loaded at 1p then it will cause a "wrong price" error on the self serve till and call the operator, Chances are this will mean the operator will remove the yellow label then will refuse to sell them when they scan at 1p. If you can remove the yellow label and get them to scan you should be able to get through without attracting attention. Hope this helps.
