1p finds at Tesco thread

I was desperate to "find" something today and had time too but alas nothing much in my local store. Did however find a clipstrip of In the night garden chracters with an out of date SEL stating £2.37 but scanning at £2.97, small DTD for anyone in the helston area. That is all i could find :-(

I'm amazed the staff took the 1p items off you, in mine they congratulate you on finding a bargain! Well most do anyway, there is the odd trout.

In the 4 shops I've tried for the wrapping paper, no-one has even attempted to take them off me. In the first shop I was shaking a bit when I found the paper on the shelf. They had 3 kinds so I took 2 girly ones up to ask for a price check. When they scanned at 1p I really was gobsmacked as I thought 1p items were an urban legend. I turned to the guy and said I was off to clear the shelf and he basically told me to fill my boots. I did mention when I paid with a 20p piece that it felt like I was robbing him and he said it felt like he was being robbed but if you get out the door there's nothing we can do!! I can imagine if the 20 something who served me had been a trout instead there wouldn't have been any banter and the trout would have left with the paper instead.

Not a penny, but just been and got more homepride chilli sauce and noticed that the chicken sauce in a jar had a sel of 10p so stocked up on that too!!! Only went in to get the smoothie glitch which also worked:T
