If anyone shops in Cheetham Hill (Manchester) there's a few packets of dormens fruit and nuts in the aisle with all the bottled water :).also, the price scanner is in the cereal aisle.LOVE having a scanner..would be too nervous to risk it at the till otherwise!

I have to admit im shameless - i use the self scanner and if im not happy with the price cancel the item. i must a pain in the butt for the workers but its worse having to go to cs after and return it :o

was at cs and saw a jar of Tescos own brand mustard, it had a post it stuck on it saying... not on system,, maybe another 1p item???/

That is usually the opposite end of the spectrum. By that I mean not on system, or not file, means it is a new product that has not been downloaded to the tills yet and therefore they can not sell it.

Yeah, i've used them. when i saw it i couldn't actually believe it, i've been to so many without one now that i thought it was a mirage. :D
the scanners are there for us to use so don't worry about using it, the only thing that could make you feel embarrassed is when a worker is nearby making sure you take the items with you or put them back LOL. there was a mountain of stuff there that people couldn't be bothered to put back. :rotfl:

My favorite store has introduced shop n scan where you walk around and self scan like in Sainsburys. Its great cos you can check prices as you walk around and if I find a 1p item like the choccy eggs it will show me straight away its 1p and it doesn't have to be seen by a checkout operator. Sometimes at checkout you get selected for a re scan, but they only re scan 5 random products and then if 1 of those 5 have not been scanned by you they will rescan your whole shop. Hopefully they will roll it out to other stores as its really useful.

Someone was asking about this a few pages back. There are self-scanners in a couple of Aberdeen stores.

Danestone - Home section (go to where the mugs are and look down a couple of those aisle, it's along one of them, currently where the bins are displayed)

Westhill - the aisle where the mugs are displayed.

Mine also beeps rather loudly, any nearby SA's always look up pretty smartish to see what's going on!
