I have read previously that sometimes new items scan at 1p before they are put on the system. I think this is what happened with the World Harvest Soups a while back and the Garners pickled shallots earlier in the year. By the time my store had stock these items were full price.
With regards to the tissues were the ones you found in a square box as these were marked on half price offer of £1.02 in my store today. The tissues with the barcodes quoted earlier are in rectangle boxes. HTHs0 -

Does anyone ever feel nervous using the scanner? I've never found one but might feel nervous using it in case anyone said anything if I did find one. Do they allow customers to use them okay?"For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone."0 -

I have never had a problem and very often items have no SEL as is often the case with the 1p bargains. There is a little sign, can't remember exact wording, that says for customers to check prices.0 -

Yeah, i've used them. when i saw it i couldn't actually believe it, i've been to so many without one now that i thought it was a mirage.
the scanners are there for us to use so don't worry about using it, the only thing that could make you feel embarrassed is when a worker is nearby making sure you take the items with you or put them back LOL. there was a mountain of stuff there that people couldn't be bothered to put back. :rotfl::EasterBunWhen life gives you lemons make grapejuice, and let the world  about how you did it!
life without Pepsi max has no place for me0
