1p finds at Tesco thread

If the till says it has been withdrawn there is usually a legal issue or a health and safety issue rather than just taking them off sale.

If you still have some I would ask them why they have been withdrawn and should you return the ones you have.

I had my 1st 1p find, the finest chestnuts! Had all 6 jars taken off me at the tills, cashier said it is managers orders that they are not allowed to sell items that scan for 1p. She then got the manager over to tell me so herself. I feel wounded, they didn't go out of date until 2013, I thought I was covered for christmas there, and now the manager has got her eyes on me. What with all the dtd'ing I had been doing too I feel like a marked man in my local.

I am at a loss as to why Tescos refuse the 1p items to be sold. I'd imagine they are probably making more money due to eejits like me continually running in and out of the place hunting for 1p stuff and then buying other bits and bobs!

I know, surely 1p profit is better than 0p profit, and is good for customer relations.

Hi everyone, not sure if it has been mentioned but I picked up a tin of Princes skinless and boneless Wild Red Salmon canned from fresh - it is a 180g tin. It was in the reduced section, no price so I took it to the checkout and it scanned at 1p. Once I paid for it I ran back in to find some more, but I had the last tin. I was so chuffed to find my 1st 1p find

Had a read back over previous pages and couldn't find it but I think I've found a new one - a tin of Red Lion Chicken Tikka Masala 392g in Hull St Stephens this afternoon. Was trying to find the Tulip Ham and and the Red Lion Chilli Con Carne and noticed this had no sel. Went and scanned it and came up at a 1p
