Thomas Cook Ticket Delivery Worry

Comments

  • Hi, we have now finally received valid ticket information from Thomas Cook after constantly (but politely) making a nuisance of ourselves. What a farce and very frustrating. Turns out the tickets were issued in June and the other documentation dated early August, so what was the problem? We are still oustanding one of the hotel vouchers but we can sort that out direct with the hotel if necessary. We will not be using Thomas Cook again.

Thanks again for the help especially Del and HXDave whose advice we combined to get things moving.

Pipsi, I hope your travel plans all work out and you have a great time. I know exactly how you feel, you think you are getting the runaround and that causes you to query all the other arrangements. Only advice is to try and keep at the agent to make sure they deliver what you've booked and paid for and make sure they give you a valid contact number for emergencies to use on the day if there is a last minute query at the airport when you check-in.

Thomas Cook seem to use viewtrip.com so if you can get a valid PNR from them you can check and scheduled flight details and give youself some comfort that the flights are booked correctly and also get the e-ticket number if there is one.

    Cheers

    J

An up date from my point of view, I was planning on calling them on Thursday to ask them to put the letter in the post but instead got a call from the branch to say my tickets and visa had arrived in branch. I went and picked them up without any problems. I wasn't overly bothered about the prospect of having to pick my tickets up at the airport. I had a holiday with Thomas Cook back in December last year and only booked a week before departure so had to pick them up from the Thomas Cook desk at the airport then. My only concern was that there might be a queue, when i flew in December i had a really early flight so i was there before the desk even opened but a queue had started to form by the time it opened.

I did only book my holiday on Saturday 28th August and they say tickets will arrive in branch two weeks before ie Wednesday 1st September. Bearing in mind that the Monday was a bank holiday, there is only one working day between the Saturday and the Wednesday so i can understand if there was just a basic hold up because of the bank holiday. However as mentioned earlier i did feel as if there was more to the story than just a delay in the tickets coming in, but i might have just been picking up the wrong signs.
