bought a scratchcard last week from my local Post Office, got home and tried to scratch it and it wouldnt scratch. It felt also there wasnt any "scratchy" stuff on the card.
I called the National Lottery and they said that there had been a problem with the mixture. They used to be made in America now its in leeds and they are having problems.
Their answer?
No problem just send it to us and we will scratch it for you!
anyone else had this experience?
just seems to defeat the whole object of buying one if i have to send it to someone for them to scratch it!
Im stuck cause i really dont know what to do! it might be a winner! !

if you can manage to scratch off part of it that reveals 4 numbers in boxes, usually in a corner then any retailer that has a lottery machine can check it for you.Nice to save.0

I would have said-you scratch mine and ill scratch yours.0 -
nothing at all will scratch off!
and come to think of it i havent won anything for months and months! thats why im sure this one is a winner!0 -
That's a shame. I would take it further. You could send it to them but chances are they'll just bin it and pretend you haven't won.
Scratchcards are winning but it's mainly small amounts. The green £100,000 is a good one and also one called 'piling on the pounds' seems to win a lot.
I work on a cigs/lotto counter.:A I love MSE!!! :A0 -
As anyone who sells these things know, they mainly payout £1 and £2 oddswise anyway. Behind most of the tills they have lists with what the winning percentages of the various games are - ask to have a look. There is no need to run outside

ok but what should i do though??0

Sounds silly to me, they should send a replacement or something. Invented scenario for my own amusement: "My TV doesn't work and my favourite programme is on in two days"
"Don't worry sir send it to us, we can fix it and we'll watch your favourite programme for you"."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Ask for a replacement if you post it to them. Or if you can maybe try asking to exchange it at the place you bought it from."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

...I think you're missing the point....it looks like the OP wants THAT particular card that he can't scratch...cos it might be a winner - the OP doesn't want another one - I think the OP is scared of swapping a ' winner' for a replacement dud.
I doubt they are going to scam you - though I do wonder how they are going to scratch if off if you cant?If you can't amaze them with your intelligence,
confuse them with your b*llsh*t.0 -
