Dealers are expecting a release of prices end of this week/early next. As soon as we have them faxed to us here we'll see where any early discounts will settle - but as with all new launch models discount are better once stock levels ease on them.

The engine line-up will essentially be the same as the S40's

OTR prices range from £14,750 for the 1.6 S to £23,795 for the D5 Geartronic Sport/SE Lux.

There'll be four trim levels: S, SE, Sport and SE Lux.

Engines levels: 1.6 (100PS), 1.8 (125PS) and 2.0 (145PS) four-cylinder petrol engines. 2.4i (170PS), T5 (220PS) five-cylinder petrol engines. 1.6D (109PS), 2.0D (136PS) four-cylinder diesel engines. D5 (180PS) five-cylinder diesel engine.

Get your first look at it at the MPH Show in Birmingham, 26-29 October. It should arrive at dealers in late December/early January.

Worst performer: 1.6 petrol: 0-60 in 11.2, max 115mph.

Best economy: 1.6D: 57.6mpg combined.
Worst economy: T5: 32.5mpg combined.

thanks for all the info philhuff,so there is no automatic other than the geartronic,do you facy one yourself or do you work for them.

I understand that the 5-speed Geartronic is optional on the 2.4i and T5, and that follows the usual Volvo method of offering it in the more powerful models. No news of it yet, but I'd be amazed if there's not an auto option across the range.
