Flashed by a Speed Camera. What next?

And if you'd read my later comment, you'd know I had realised this was a lousy idea and was going to own up when I see my parents this evening. Thanks for the opinion, however. And you borrowed your mother's car and went out and broke the speed limit.
To be honest if you did that in my car I'd give you a little talk and do a bit of finger wagging, just like you will when and if your own child goes out and gets a speeding ticket driving your car.
Your mother's car was caught speeding and you somehow think she shouldn't/ isn't entitled to know about it? So you're planning on sneaking around stealing her mail now? Please...
Just be a man and tell them for crying out loud.
Cheers to everyone one else for the helpful comments
I've noticed when we pass speed warning signs around the area (not cameras, just signs which monitor your speed and change colour depending if your over or under the limit) they seem to clock the speed a couple of MPH under what the speedo says. If speed cameras are the same, maybe I'll get the choice of the course.
If not, I'll take the points. I've learnt my lesson anyway.0 -
Nobody and I mean NOBODY drives within the speed limits all the time, i'd say 95% of people drive at 35mph+ (speedo reading, not actual) in a 30 zone, so anyone who gets on their high horse is a hypocrite tbh.
Oddly enough however 95% of people on motoring related forums "say" they never stay above the limit..... Go figure.
Not labelling your parents, im just saying that I very much doubt any lecture will follow.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Thanks.
ROFL. Funny that, isn't it? I'm nearly 40 and its the same.
Don't beat yourself up about it. You knowingly took the risk and you got caught but at least you've got the decency to own up to it. 3 points for speeding isn't going to make any difference to insurance in the future so don't worry about anything like that.0 -

Wrong, I've seen some old biddys constantly drive 10-30mph under the speed limit :P0 -

In 30 limits, I drive within the limit. In 40's in built up areas its pretty much the same. But outside that.....;)
However I've done 1.8 million miles since the one and only speeding ticket I've ever got so its possible not to get nicked. My problem isn't with people exceeding an abritrary number on a stick but with those who whinge about being badly done to when they get caught.0 -
Keep you mouth shut, chances are the camera wasn't loaded and your be dropping your self in it for no reason, when the nip arrives deal with it then. Oh how did that happen will probably cover it.Nothing to see here, move along.0

I got flashed from a camera, had valid reason and also a crime ref number(another story)
That was back in March and no NIP ever arrived, chances are camera wont be loaded.I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.

if the NIP arrives, reply back asking to see the calibration certificate. If they cant provide you with one, you'll get away.0

Well.... Lets face it, your unlikely to find a manned camera in any location where the speed limit matches the type of road. It's limited dual carriageways and wide roads with pointless low limits where you have to be careful.... Even more so on roads which change speed limits frequently!
You can drive past a school doing 90mph all day long and never get caught. In my opinion it shouldn't be that way, but they're clearly only interested in catching as many people as possible.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
