paid at wrong machine

While holidaying in lymington i parked in the marks and spencers car park(euro car parks) but paid at the council machine. The two parking areas only have a small access road to separate them. The M&S manager told me that other people have also be caught out by this and they are aware of the problem. New signage is on order but i still got a £50 ticket from Euro car parks.

Can i get out of paying this fine?

Help Nathan

This is NOT a fine ..... ignore ignore .... they will send you a few letters, but eventually go away - look at the sticky at the top of this page for more info!!

  • yes i did shop there and i emailed them twice but they said i should contact Euro car parks
  • Don't get too stressed over it, don't bother to contact them as its an unenforceable invoice. You will get a few threatening letters and then they go away.
See the post https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2214803 for a view of the letters you'll get. To date they have never gone beyond threats.

What fine? Private companies cannot issue fines, so you have nothing to "get out" of. As the others have said, ignore it.
  • I just love this 'nuffin to do wiv me guvnor' attitude of retail managers. Happy to take your money but will not lift a finger to help. Anyway, as the wise have already pointed out, ignore this 'fine' as it has no legal validity.
Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!

So now you know to ignore every thing they send you. ignore, ignore, ignore.

And now you have a run of good luck, if youve still got your ticket you could go back to the council
and ask for a refund cos you werent using their car park anyway.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Tell them to go and ask the council for the money, I am sure they will pay them without a thought ;) afterall you didn't park in that section of the car park
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
