I wonder what the figures for how much more house prices fell in December?
I would bet on another 3% falls approx.
Next spring we may see the rate of decline slow down a bit, but the trend is still down in real terms for the next few years.0 -

If it is a 3% drop, it's the weather's fault, along with those nasty banks who used to be so nice.30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.0 -
Asking prices aren't realised prices so in fact nothing of note has dropped.0

Disagree. Asking prices are a fine indication of sentiment.THE_GHOULISH_CODPIECE wrote: »Asking prices aren't realised prices so in fact nothing of note has dropped.
Hence the level of interest in the RightMove index.
Also I'm sure you'd be the first to say how powerful and profoundly meaningful that asking prices when all indexes are heading upwards.

Yeah asking prices donot mean anything people may offer more than asking prices:rotfl: after all credit is so easy to get and property prices are only3 times average income :T0 -
Sellers are always interested in Asking prices.
In a declining market even more so and often price accordingly.
Buyers however are only interested in the price they can get away with paying, especially in a declining market

Seeing further big drops in asking prices round my way.
But interestingly, it's not just drops on existing houses for sale, but new ones are coming in lower still."The problem with quotes on the internet is that you never know whether they are genuine or not" -

Thats how it started around here.
We still get the odd 2 bed mid terrace coming onto the market that is priced about 25k more than the 3 bed semis in the surrounding streets, but most sellers have now realised they have to get realistic with their pricing.0 -
