School sent a note home a month ago and I noted we had a Fri & Mon inset day in Dec. I booked Center Parcs for that weekend ie Fri-Mon as I thought it was a perfect time to go. Its cost £419.
I have just been looking at the schools website and it seems the inset days are now planned for late Nov (giving a long weekend then) I did keep the letter and will be ringing school tomorow.Does anyone know where I stand. There will be cancelation charges or amendment charges if I dont ake the break as planned.
Thanks in advance

Cherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.
No matter how you feel, get up, dress up & never give up.

Just go on the holiday. Who really gives a monkeys if your children miss a couple of days of school, particularly if they have changed the dates. Put it this way I doubt very much if they would cough up the money you would lose if you cancelled because they were being pedantic.0

Similar happened in my children's school a few years ago and a lot of parents had booked a Christmas type break away on the back of the information. The absence was authorised by the School under the circumstances, you just had to send in a letter.0

Just go on the holiday! Kids will enjoy themselves far more in CP that in school!
I'm taking my 2 out at the end of November to go for 4 nights. I don't have a problem with doing so & not does the head of the school. She's never refused them time out.
Go & enjoy!!!!0 -
Go, go go...
oh, and have a great time:D0 -
Go on holiday and enjoy it.
Apply for authorised absence and explain your reasons in the letter. I doubt it would be refused after all it's only for two days!! If you don't get authorised absence go anyway, whose kids are they anyway and missing two days of school to have an activity weekend and family time is quite reasonable.
Saying all that, even without the inset days this sort of request wouldn't necessarily be refused anyway (we wne for a mid week break in term time this may and it was authorised).0
