Why you want to cause trouble I dont know, Yes I private rent, my girlfriend is 14 weeks pregnant and living with her parents, I want to keep working to support them, I don't want to pack up work and sponge of the government, I come here for help, why try and drag me down, a family over the road have 4 kids, neither have worked since leaving school, they get everything paid for, smoke and drink all day and I have been working 18 years since leaving school, all I want is help and advice, I don't come here to be abused or want trouble, all thought your trying to put the spanner in Sunnyone and have a cheap laugh at me, well can I ask if your contributions are not constructive or helpful, please stay away thank you.

OP - Did you think about how you and your partner would support the baby before creating it? I am guessing not based on the situation you have presented.
Anyway. The situation changes if you and your partner move in together, or are planning to move in together. So what information are you wanting? For now, when you dont live together, or for when you live together?0 -

Hi Duncombe and thank you for taking the time to respond, here is the situation.
Me and my partner have been trying for a baby for 2 years, I am 33 and she is 26, we have been under the hospital as she suffers polycystic ovaries and has had 4 miscarages, last year she was laid off work, she was ill for sometime until she was diagnosed with diabeates type 2, she was put on a drug called metformin which also helped with the polycystic ovaries, and she fell pregnant and we were surprised but very very happy as sometimes she can go months or years without having a period, at the time we lived with our parents.
I recently started renting a house and finances are fine, I take home about £1250 each month, my girlfriend is in JSA, the plan is for her to come and live with me, we have been saving really hard and have £2000 saved up for when the baby is born (we already have cot, pram and the main big stuff) , we have been staying in, holiday in my parents caravan to save money for the baby, what I wanted to know was What will happen when the baby is born? Will she lose JSA? and what if any help I will get when the time comes to support them both? Will my partner recieve anything?? these are all questions I don't know and thats why I came here.
I regard myself good with money and save a bit each month, Some for the baby and some in a general savings account (about £1500) I like to plan things regard money so if I got a rough idea at what to expect I can plan better. I am currently paying £425 for rent, next year I will recieve £15000 from my ex partner for the house we once shared, I then plan to buy a house and hopefully my partner will be working by then anyway, If I plan well I can and will continue to save as much as possible towards buying a house.
I am currently in full time work and work 48 hours a week and earn £18700 pa, this is my only income, I do pay 3% into my works pention and have life insurance.
Thank you0 -
Ok. So. When your partner moves in with you, she will lose her JSA. You earn too much for her to claim it. She will need to look for work independent of the Job Centre.
You won't be able to claim WTC as I previously said - you earn too much.
When the baby is born, you can claim CTC and CB.
When is your partner due? If she is more than 25 weeks pregnant by the 1st January 2011, she may be able to apply for the HIP grant. It is a one off payment of £190 that all pregnant woman are currently entitled to. However, it is being scrapped.
Your partner will not be entitled to the Sure Start Maternity Grant as she does not fit any of the qualifying criteria.
I doubt you will get any help with housing costs in the form of HB or CTB because, we said before, you earn too much.
Does this answer your questions about money?0 -
