You can't transfer a 'special offer' deal to a different hotel.

I would of thought if you could find someone to take the rooms - premier inn probs wouldn't mind changing the name? I couldn't see that as an issue?

Changing the name is an amendment! :D As would getting someone in to replace you. The last 3 times I stayed at PI's in August I was asked for the credit card that I used to make the booking. So either you hand over the credit card to a stranger and also have your ard details stored to cover costs if the person replacing you smokes in the room (£100 reinstatement charge) or trashes it.

The whole point of a raft of T&C's with cheap prices is that I don't want to make changes as it costs them money to deal with you.

  • Thanks again everyone especially Zenmaster who was particularly helpful! I am well aware what the terms and conditions say and that I could have paid more and had a flexible booking but then I haven't got the ability to see what happens in the future and which companies are going to go bust etc. otherwise I would not be concerned about £87. The whole point of us taking the cheaper offer is because we don't have alot of money and can't afford to lose £87 for a booking that we will not be using. All I wanted to know was if there was anybody I can write to, email or call who may be able to offer a compromise, whether there was a way of getting round the insurance wording etc. or if anyone else had had the same problem and knew who I could speak to.
Anyway booking was for tonight so too late now.
    Thanks anyway.
  • What is the insurance wording? However even if insurance were to pay up, won't there be an excess charge of £50 - £75, so it probably isn't worth it to then have a claim against your name.

Did you ring and cancel? One last shot might be to see if the hotel was full so you would know if they resold the room and then you could contact a senior exec with the whole story. It's not as though you cancelled on a whim. Do that anyway.
  • Hotel deals are a great price. However it is a gamble. They are cheap because they are non-refundable in situations like yours.

I think on this occassion you will have to accpet that you won't be getting a refund. The hotel is perfectly within it's rights to not refund or transfer this deal (although a bit mean).

Sometimes its best to pay extra fo flexibility.
