Hi All,
Need to hire a car for 3 people + luggage from San Jose airport, dropping off at San Diego airport a week later.
Does anyone know of any special offers or codes out there ? Also does anyone know what the terminology is for full insurance. Every quote I am getting is being stung by the one way fee, either way I've gotta get a car so will have to pay no matter what, just would like to mitigate my budget somewhat,
Thanks for any help you can give.

any co.uk site should provide all the insurance you need , not the case always on .com as americans often have thier own coverage
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/hertz-423/ theres often some one way discount codes on that forum , plus you can find 10% codes easily and another possible 10% with quidco
, plus you can sign up for gold#1 membership with a free delta airlines freq flyer club
other comapnys listed here

Google Car Hire Excess Insurance......0

You shouldn't be getting charged one way fees within California. They are against state law.
Doing a search on https://www.carrentals.co.uk suggests that you'll get a fully inclusive car for around £130 to £200 depending on the size you choose (£130 would be big enough for three).
Excess is generally zero in the USA by my experience. I am quite anti excess insurance though. It's easier to not crash the car than pay someone £60 for the privilege.0 -
Cheers chaps, gives me something to get going on.0

Use this code for HERTZ
706900 TRAVEL PARTNERS CLUB
It always gives me the best result with a further 10% if you book via
topcashback.co.uk/ref/basking/?s=20 -
We did a one way in California a couple of years ago with no one way fee. Picked up at San Diego Airport and dropped off at John Wayne Airport. We used http://www.usrentacar.co.uk/ They get a good name on the various UK Disney forums.0

I recently did a one way from SF to LA airports. I booked with Ebookers via Quidco, getting 6% cashback in the process. It worked out at less than £110 for six days, although note that it is quite common for the rental counter to sell you a full tank of fuel at collection (rent it full, return it empty).0

Basking, just need to be wary about some codes to avoid disappointment - whilst some are simple retail discount codes for use by all, others are only for 'closed groups'. This CDP is a programme for employees of Hertz partners and people using this code may be asked to show some employee ID at time of rental to prove their entitlement.0
