ebay confusion...help?

my boyfriend bought some brakes off ebay about a week ago, paid by paypal, they cost over £400 and has still not received them? he has repeatedly emailed the seller, but no reply or contact has been made! my boyfriend is pretty worried, as am i, also because i am constantly checking his ebay for any messages or developments.
ive just tried the contact seller information button, but it keeps bringing up an item number for a shower curtain???

what happens next........sorry?

sorry, you have already said paypal. Start a chargeback, the seller would have to prove he sent the item, his account will be frozen if he doesn't comply

Seller sold two items in total that day and has received feedback on the other. Might just be a problem, but start a chargebcak in the meantime and pull his contact details. And give him a ring.
  • It's a bit of a worry that he only has feedback for 5 previous sales... but apart from that there aren't really any warning signs.

    Have you tried ringing him?

yeh he doesn't look too bad for what I can see,

The other item he sold on the 16th the person left feedback on 23rd.... he might just be slow!

Doesn't look like he uses ebay a lot and might not genuinely see your email. Although if I had sold something for that much I would be certain to do everything the correct way (Well I do always anyway!)

Either use his address to find the phone number on bt.com or pull through ebay - not entirely sure how to do this, have a look through help.

  • To find the seller's contact information on eBay, click on the Advanced Search link (under the top right search box) and use the Find Contact Information link under Members (left menu). Once you have provided the item number the the seller's ID, contact information will be emailed to both the seller and yourself.

Nevertheless, in view of the amount, it would be advisable to launch a dispute with PayPal anyway. Rest assured, you shall not lose your money as the seller has to establish that the item was sent by means of an online tracking number. Worst case scenario, you may lose the £15 which PayPal charges for arbitration if they are unable to recover that amount from the seller's account. Hope this helps.
