Tesco or GaffGaff??
Hi all,
I need to get a new sim as i've been living in Spain for the past two years but have now returned to live in the UK again. I've been looking at some offers on Sim cards and networks and what seems the best deals.
I've heard about a special Tesco Sim Only deal which is £10 for 500 mins, unlimited text and data (within reason I think). I've also heard about Tesco pay as you go which triples your credit when you top up so if you top up £10 you get £30, plus if you top up at Tesco stores you get triple clubcard points.
Not sure about differences between these offers?
Tonight i've only just heard about the GiffGaff network and that seems a pretty good deal as well, top up £10 and you get unlimited data and texts with a bundle.
I know people on all different networks so I'm not sure which is right for me. Coverage wise, on Vodafone I get about 2 bars of signal, rubbish customer service though! Orange is hopeless, 3 is ok but not full coverage.. T-mobile is terrible coverage too I think.. some of my family members use Tesco mobile powered by O2 and say it's the best coverage they experienced in our area. I've heard the 3G isn't too great though. Another idea is go on actual O2 with ther payg Simplicity plan but with bolt on which a mate has and says is good, but I have no idea and it seems a bit costly..well £15 a month I think.
Which is the best deal? I'm quite a light user but would like to have internet data included with the deal. I'm only looking for payg deals, or 30 day contract deals.. I'm not looking for a year or 18 month contract as is too expensive for me at present as I'm unemployed currently having only returned from Spain!
I find it all so confusing! I would appreciate any suggestions!
Many Thanks!

GiffGaff and Tesco both use the O2 network. The main difference is that GiffGaff charge you an arm and a leg if you go over your allowances. Tesco has the advantage of earning you clubcard points whilst you use your phone. In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0

Correct me if I'm wrong, but whilst Giffgaff will charge 8p/min and 4p/text for calls outside of any goodybag allowance, Tesco will charge 20p/min when a bundle has run out. T-mobile seem to charge 30p/min out of bundle, Orange 25p/min and 15p/text out of bundle, Talkmobile are 30p/min out of bundle.
Giffgaff's "arm and a leg" seems to be a lot smaller than most.
Giffgaff's new £5/month package to get 2p/min calls and 1p texts is an interesting addition. Is this just to ensure it is impossible to work out which is cheapest - although this latest one is really good for highly variable and unpredictable usage - where bundles can either be a rip off due to run or rates or overpaying for non-usage.0
