We've sorted through Ds1's clothes. We filled 3 black bags for rags, 1 for the charity shop and 2 for Ebay.:eek: He has 3 tops, a pair of jeans and some pants and socks that fit, the rest are too small.:eek::eek: I feel this is going to be an expensive shopping trip. Whilst Ds1 is tidying his room i'm going to do the same for Ds2's clothes, i may as well.

thanks MLB.. the report was actually quite amusing.. they had 6 of the childrens names spelled wrong and 4 had the surname spelled wrong, bear in mind they all have the same surname!.. I was called something completely different and not even remotely like my name.. and parts of it were not about us at all and in other parts they got OH's and KH's names mixed up.. well they do start with the same letter!! so I am going to pee them off by making them redo them all with the correct information and spellings.

    I would list there spelling mistakes and mix ups as points in your complaint ie;

1, I do not have a child named (insert spelling mistake)
2, I am no longer with or married to (xh name ) but do in fact live with (insert partners name)

And the list could go on don't forget to put in there that this letter is factually incorrect and that you would like to see the facts corrected if there are any mistakes ie were they mention your partner has a temper then you have every right to ask to see the source of this information and you can demand to see it if it is a family workers observation she needs to explain them fully as to how she could think such a thing ;)

DD2 has emptied dw,cleaned kitchen table, hoovered frontroom, doen 2 loads of washing for me bless her just waiting for DD1 to get her bum out of her pit and she will have a list of jobs to:D

  • Hya all,
Pigpen it is important you put your side of things into the mix or people will just accept the FSW's word for how things are. Also the mistakes need to be corrected. Some people don't realise that their errors can have serious repercussions. Good Luck. Fantastic news about DD1 and her award. It is good to see the children rewarded for all their hard work. Well done:)
Grey and damp here so no washing today.
Going to pick some tomatoes and make a bolognese base. Was going to use some from the freezer but that seems silly when we still have lots growing in the garden. Any mix surplus to requirements can go in freezer for the times when fruiting is over. Guess what? It has just started to rain buckets!!!
I did go into the spare bedroom and dabbled a bit but I need to take a big breath and jump in! However, the downstairs is much more acceptable these days and my unexpected visitors yesterday evening did not have me curling up my toes in embarrassment:) Thanks Pigpen, Toots and everyone x

    update DD's allowance

Sorry to butt in but please let me know what you decide as we are having similar discussions and can't decide if we are being to generous or too stingy! We're paying her bus fares until she is paid (just started first job) and am giving her a 3 month reprieve before she has to pay housekeeping. I buy all her needs - she takes care of the wants.

DD1 just opened her mail and she has been invited to an award ceremony for the top performing students in the city and some of her friends have awards of £50-£90 her is... £190!!

    Fantastic!

DH and I are back on the smooth road. He bought me flowers this morning:D

DF came round last night. I though she was popping in for an hour but she didn't go until 11.30! She's a veggie and I didn't have anything that wasn't packed full of meat:o.

I woke up at stupid o'clock this morning and had the WM on by 5.30. I'm paying for it now and and shattered. I've supervised DS3's homework - now to tie DS2 to a chair and make him do his. I will not get into the weekly row at 7.30 on Sunday night about homework being left until the last minute.

DH and DD1, DS1 and DS2 are off to watch Orient this afternoon. I am dickering with the idea of going to Old Macdonald's farm but it's quite a drive and the little ones are tired after the first week of school.
  • I ran up to watch DS play football; they were anihilated by the team that was top of the league last year :(

DS is in Y5 and he pays for everything apart from school uniform, trips and equipment, shoes and coats (though when did you last see a teenage boy wear a coat :rotfl: ). DD is 17 and at art college. She pays for everything for herself, apart from equipment and trips for college, and her train fare to Leeds (£9.50/day  ).

If we go out as a family DH and I pick up the tab; if they go out with their friends, then they pay for fares, entry, meals (though I sometimes sub DS for food ;) ). They have mobiles which they pay for, but have free use of the house phone. Neither drives, so DH and I take them where they need to be.

They both have PT jobs which pay a few £ a week (though DD has had a looooooooooooot of overtime this summer :j

DD gets a bit more than DS, but she could spend hundreds a month if we gave it, which we don't :p I need to update hers as she's moved from PAYG to a contract, but as she's under 18 that has to be in my name, so I'm reducing her allowance accordingly :)

PM me if you want to know exactly what they get, or you could start a thread on the Families Board - they're nice in there :happyhear (so long as you have no controversial views on pets  )
