Skype - best(cheapest) options?

Hi,

I have no knowledge of Skype so please bear with me!

I wondered whether it would be a suitable way of me keeping in contact with my daughter who lives with her mother. She's 11.

Naturally, I guess we'd both need mobile phones with the relevant software / app to make use of the service. I'd want PAYG for both of us - so I can cap her useage for non Skype calls / texts.

So, is it a simple as picking the cheapest compatible mobile phone and then downloading the software?

Only 3 allow free Skype calls, have a look at their site for cheap Skype phones.

if you just want to Skype her you can both do it via PC/laptop for nothing, you just need a head set.
