Use of a Garage

My recent thread about the garage not being able to be used to store a car has got me thinking, what do people really value:
a. A garage to store a car / motorbikes
b. A garage to use as a general storage space
c. A garage to convert into more living space / bedroom
and why?

We may be slightly out of the ordinary but we have motorbikes and therefore a garage is utterly essential for storing the bikes, and also as a workshop as we do all our own maintenance. It's pretty much our top priority when looking at houses to buy - I could weep when I see a great house with a bad garage conversion!0

I use my garage for keeping my car in.0

The problem that I have with my garage is that it was never built for the current size of cars and the door is neither wide enough nor high enough (due to the slope of the drive) to get my car in. Even if I did get the car in I would then be stuck in the car as I wouldn't be able to open the doors. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. My garage used to be for storage, then I actually cleared out enough junk so that a car now fits in it. So that's what it is used for now.Hoping this year is better than the last.

Pretty much every house on my road has converted their garage into living space. I've kept mine however as when it's cold it's lovely getting into a warm(ish) car in the mornings. Also does my insurance premium no harm at all.0

My house is only 20 years old but still isnt big enough for a car. A lot of them have been converted into rooms where i am. Part of the fit as many houses in as possible homebuilding strategy.0

We have a garage big enough for a car, a pool table and loads of garden and house junk too. But we deliberately made sure it was huge.0

I'd love a garage to store my car in. It would be great to just drive out of it in the mornings without having to scrape the ice or sometimes snow off!Squish0

I have garage envy!

We had a garage and we converted it into a living space and I love it. We have 3 cars, all which are used daily and all of a similar value, therefore it would be no use putting one in the garage. We do have a large shed in the garden which takes everything we need to store.0
