My vet drives a new porsche, do I begrudge her not at all, she is running a business, not a charity. She should be applauded for building a successful business.
She is a talented vet and I am lucky to have her able to care for my pets if required.

There seems to be an underlying resentment in this country for people who make a good living, and for some reason dentists and vets seem to be fair game for a dose of resentment.

I totally agree with you in this country no one wants anyone else to get on.

I'd try a different vet if your not happy with the one you go to :)

  • Move Vets!

I did.....I took my girl for an Xray in preparation for her Leg op and it cost me over £400 at my vets.....The specialist who did the operation then asked me to return her after for an Xray and it cost £112 pounds for exactly the same thing...The bills were identical except for the price of each item!!!

So I did what any sensible person would do....I spoke to them about costs of jabs etc and found a 70% cost difference....

I also found that the new vets didn't have two things that my old vets had...A snotty receptionist with a superior attitude and a vet who seemed to think I should be grateful to him for deigning to look at my animals!!!

The only downside is that I have a 20mile journey to my new vet but for the cost saving and vet who actually talks to me like a human being...i think it's well worth it!!!!

  • A vet here. I've just driven home to my tiny rented house in my 18 year old car... I'll just take the £ signs out of my eyes before I get into bed then! :rotfl:

I would encourage anyone unhappy with their veterinary practice to talk to them and, if you are not getting the answers you want, switch. As a customer you are in a powerful position, so use it. :)
