Hi well we bought it yesterday and i had a panic when i read this so went out and faffed quickly. I will need 2 boosters and a high back booster on the middle row and 2 car seats in the back which fit fine as seperate seats unlike some we have seen. The back is admittedly hard to access but this is due to the previous owner putting seat covers on so the seats so the one behind the driver will now not pull forward without the whole row moving but not the end of the world tbh as the little ones arrive before the others so can get them in first and they seem to fit fine..a squeeze admittedly but tbh no worse than my MG and i have the doors now to open and close. I am really pleased with it and the kids are so excited about going in it! Hope it works out ok.0

Unless specified otherwise, I would personally treat 40K (or intervals of) as the starting point for considering a belt and tensioner change.
And add 4 years to the equation for low mileage users as belts deteriorate over time not just miles..............0 -

Ah yes i see what you mean. Went out and had a play earlier and the seats split so one single and the 2 part but they put these seat covers on and it meant the single seat wouldn't go forward so i had to have dd the other side holding the lever to allow all seats to go forward as it was sticking so unzipped the single seat and now they are all fine..may take them off in time not sure yet.
I have the 2 big car seats in the back the 3 others in the middle easily with room to move so am happy and set up for monday.0 -
I've owned 3 Galaxy's and a Zafira. All were 1.9 diesels. 2 of the 3 Galaxy's were excellent cars, didn't have any problems with either of them. The third was an ex lease car that I bought and I sense it probably hadn't been well looked after (but it was cheap!). It needed a new turbo and clutch within a matter of months. All 3 Galaxys returned well over 40mpg and much of the time were averaging 45mpg on mixed driving.
In between those cars, I had a Zafira 1.9 CDTi (120). It was an ex-motability car, had only done 18,000 miles in 3 years. Nothing but trouble from day 1, and in the end I sold it and bought one of the above mentioned Galaxys. The biggest issue I had was that some days it refused to start, and the garage were worse than useless, claiming there was nothing wrong with it, despite it regularly arriving there on the back of an AA tow truck.. Having said that, we have friends with a Zafira who love theirs, so it is personal taste.
My biggest gripe with the Zafira was the middle row of seats. We had to take the child seats out to lift the seat base up to slide it forward whenever we needed access to the rear seats, and I was never comfortable with how close to the back window the kids heads were in the very rear seats. Having said that, the Galaxy didn't offer a huge amount of extra clearance between their heads and the rear window, but access was much easier.
I'd have another Galaxy without hesitation, but wouldn't go for the Zafira again. However, part of that is down to the service we get from the Ford garage, which has always been second to none.0 -
Hi Jonathana thanks for your input, nice to hear to hear responces good or bad so we know what to look out for.
The very back seats have the proper car seats in which have proper heat restraints etc and are imo a fair way away from the back window..the thing i find is the car is higher up so if a normal car hit it would have to hit really pretty hard to hurt anyone and as i am only using it for the school run which is down a lane i obviously hope that will not happen. The middle has booster seats high backed or low depending on whos in and again can easily be moved in and out for the others to go in the back but will check this later as to whether the seat will move with the seats in. Compared to my MG the boot is not that much further away from the seats and my friends huuuge discovery had even less space but was obviously much higher..i remember her being so excited getting it then calling me to say 'omg i cant fit the buggy in..anywhere' and she really struggled with loads of things which i laughed at as our little MG was and still is great for those things!
Anyway! at the mo very pleased with it..the test will be with the kids in it!
Thanks for the reply.0 -

You appear to be using the car in the course of running a business - if that is the case, do you have the correct insurances and licences to do so?0
