Thats hardly helpful and not relevant is it?

The issue is what should she do now

Well the OP has started/added this topic to so many threads, they have all become a blur now.

I was just puzzled to why anybody would buy a Rover with their renowned HG problems, no harm in that, or are you self appointed moderator now?

£160 will probably pay for the whole job!

(Going rate for the gasket set is about £20)

Still trading on a good name/reputation which they no longer deserve.... Just my opinion.

    Agree.

Regardess, it's not quite the "simple job" everybody is making out, it's still fairly labour intensive, coupled with he may be doing it "properly" and having the head checked and skimmed. He'll have done this job many, many times before.

Might as well get the cambelt done at the same time, could save you money in the long run.

That'll teach you to buy one of these!

£160 for the parts however is very excessive, offer to suppy the parts youself, and somebody on here, or myself will point you in the right direction.

I'd say "I'll supply the parts, "(inc. new cambelt kit) and suggest he repairs it, and fits a new cambelt as way of recompense.

    Regards,
    Andy
