I would after 8 weeks of hearing nothing issue a demand for payment within the next 28 days (you have to do this to make your smallclaim court action be succesful, you have to have allowed sufficient notice for payment with a warning of court action, it's all told to you on moneyclaim.gov) or small claims court action will be taken with the additional court fee added on. After hearing nothing for 14 days send a reminder. After a further 7 days, go through the procedure online (I think you are able to set out a case outline and get a reference # And internet link without actually paying up and starting the ball rolling) You give them the moneyclaim link to your outline case and remind them they have 7 days left to pay up before you finalise the claim, which means you pay the fee and set the ball rolling. Make it clear that after this has occured you will only settle for the claim amout + court fee, otherwise you will let it go to ajudication.

And if I may say so THE MOST important thing is to update the thread when you have a result or when you decide to give it up and give your reasons. Fed up with the standard internet format of people who ask for help but then never return to say what the outcome was.
