  • Thanks for that Lillibet. I've just told Watchdog about our situation.

BTW you missed the last "L" off the end of your link. http://www.bbc.co.uk/consumer/tv_and_radio/watchdog/contact_index.shtml should work.
  • Hi, thanks for the replies.
I'll be using that number from now on!!! Savings!

As for the emailing of card details over - I know I shouldn't do it. But what else am I meant to do.??
In my written one I didn't send them due to that reason - and I just don't know what to do in that respect.

I did email watchdog the other day but haven't heard from them as yet.

Will write more tomorrow and update!

Try https://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk - there are all sort of letters for claims & advice is extremely quick coming. Small claims court seems to be your option, but go on cag & ask.
  • Okay - just rang good ole easyjet - first time was cut off so good start.

Next time however went though whole rig marole ending with I need to send email with card details!
I said can I not just do it over phone, no - you need to email it or send it via letter.
Said I'd done this numourous times and can he check his email system cos I sent email on Monday again after the woman couldn't find any.
This time however he found the one dated 20TH JULY!!!

Aarrghhh so it was there all along the little liars!

Anyways, from this point he said that they personally do not do those refunds and he would pass it onto his manager to get sorted!

Sounds good - but will it really happen?
Don't hold your breath.....keep you posted!

Be aware that if it turns out that you are not legally entitled to the money you have claimed, this would then result in further costs for you.
<Sorry to disagree, but I don't believe this is the case.......In small claims tracks costs are very, very very rarely awarded.

I thought this was the whole point of the small claims court and that the only expenses you would be liable for would be the cost of bring the action in the first place, in this case £30.

I think this means we are both on the same sideie costs minimum of £30 or around 10% of amount claimed (whichever is grreater) to file the court papers starting the action. This filing fee is added to the debt, so if you win you get it back...if you lose you obviously don't.If it's small claims you can't claim costs of (for example) your solicitors, witnesses, experts...but if you lose you're wouldn't have to pay the other party's costs either........................................................................................................................................................It's very effective against larger companies because it costs them a lot of money to defend a small claims action and once you get judgement the bailiffs would have plenty of assets to go at!!!....................................................................................................................Used it myself a couple of times, and really easy. Can be done online (IIRC https://www.moneyclaimonline.gov.uk or .com or .org)
  • Hi, thought I'd update you on my situation.

Well, I had given up hope, and today in my inbox i found an email from Easyjet!
    Hummmmm I thought!
    But no wait!
They are refunding my money - whooopppeeeee! :j

Hasn't quite reached my account as yet so I guess I best not put the flags out just yet!

No compensation for the delay of 3 MONTHS! Least they have managed to get up to mid July of their back log ;);)

I hope you two manage to get your money back too - I really do think its a case of having lots and lots of patience!

Be aware that if it turns out that you are not legally entitled to the money you have claimed, this would then result in further costs for you.

The only extra cost win OR lose would be the cost of the court which is about 35 pounds (check money.gov.uk for details of court fees).

The whole point about Small claims court is that you don't have to pay the other parties costs if you lose, However, it does not work bothways, because the sued party (i.e. Easyjet if lose DO have to pay your court costs IF you inlclude it in your claim).
