Setting up new tv

Hi, I've just bought a new tv and I am trying to set it up. At the moment I'm trying to connect a sky box(not +),a dvd and a video, I know how old!, I've got a sky+ box coming next week. There wasn't a manual with the tv, I've downloaded one but can't make head nor tail of it. I would really appreciate if someone could explain(simply) for me the best way to connect it all up. There is the main tv aerial, which isn't working at the moment, Sky is showing up but not the dvd or video, the tv also has built in freeview which I can't seem to find. I had my old tv connected with scart leads so that's all I have at the moment. The tv has 2 scart sockets. Thanks for any help anyone can give.

I would probably try and swap VCR and DVD so you are watching the DVD via scart for best picture quality and if your DVD is not a DVR.

    No HDMIs on anything?

Thanks. No HDMI cables yet, the new tv has 4 hdmi sockets. That's a great diagram.

What do mean by the DVD/video aren't 'showing up'? If you connect the SCARTS up, then all you have to do is change the AV input on the TV remote to select the input you want. If you don't have a working aerial connected then you can't get Freeview-your only TV source will be Sky.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Thanks for your replies. I've changed the scart lead from the vcr to the tv for a new one and it's now working, should've tried that first!
