O2 Blackberry Contract expiring soon - advice please

Hi All

I'm just coming to the end of my O2 18 month contract on a Blackberry 8900 Curve on the Online 35 Contract which has been costing me £19.99 per month (£35 less £15 loyalty discount for the duration).

Below are my current 'bolt ons' and as the loyalty discount expires soon I will revert to paying £35 a month. I am quite happy to continue using my existing Blackberry, but I'm not happy to pay £35 a month.

I'm considering a 30 day Simplicity sim maybe the £10 or £15 one?

All I know is that for 18 months my bills have not gone over £19.99 a month so therefore I must be within my usage allowance - I only use it for emails, internet browsing, facebook, ebay etc etc. I don't tend to download anything.

My question is to do with the FOC Blackberry unlimited. If I switch/upgrade to a simplicity sim, do I continue to get the FOC blackberry unlimited? If so, what exactly am I getting?

Or can anyone recommend which route would get me the best in terms of minutes/texts/data for the cheapest price? I would prefer a 30 day contract as I will continue to use the 8900 until it dies and then I will take out a new long term contract on a new phone.

Thanks for any advice/suggestions! :j

What you've got and when it expires.

Loyalty Discount £-15.00 per month Active 19.09.10

I've posted a thread - not sure whether you've seen it.

Through Tesco - until 10th or 12th October.

You keep your sim, pay £10 a month direct debit and you'll get 500 mins of calls, unlimited texts and unlimited internet. I've just signed up tonight and am signing DS up too.

Is that the sort of thing you were looking for?
YOUR = belonging to you (your coat); YOU'RE = you are (I hope you're ok)

really....it's not hard to understand :T
  • I didn't think that a Blackberry could be used with a normal Tesco sim, but maybe someone with more knowledge will be along to tell me I'm wrong.

No. It you want to retain the blackberry features you need to buy the Blackberry Simplicity, starts at £20 if you want the 30 day plan (300 minutes / unlimited text and blackberry data, or rather unlimited meaning 500MB), or £15 if you are willing to sign up for 12 months.

O2 are not that bothered about losing customers at the moment, you are unlikely to get much of a loyalty discount.

It can be used as a phone with a Tesco sim, you just lose the blackberry data and features.
