  • Ignore this 'fine'. It has NO legal validity. Private companies cannot impose fines, that has been the law for almost 100 years.
Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!
  • @bromsgrovebarry,

Thanks for your reply, i may lean towards that position but im worried as to any negative outcome.

I dont want to be hounded by Police or dragged into Court.

Bromsgrovebarry - What about the photo's?

    Ignore ignore and ignore.

The only damages they can seek is the cost of parking (7 or 8 quid or whatever the amount is to park for longer than 2 hours). The police won't get in on the action as its a 'civi' matter.
  • Please do not be threatened by the pseudo-legal claptrap designed to scare you. Parking on private land is a civil and not criminal matter. The police will NOT be involved, the 'fine' is unenforceable and you owe this pondlife nothing. Like many people on here, I got a 'fine' in a private car park, ignored the scammers and want to make sure that nobody is duped by this nasty little scam. Oh and the photos do not make a jot of difference.

Police? No, it's a civil matter. Court? No, CP Plus have never bothered with that, as they'd lose.

Photos? Watchdog exposed this scam in May and used a bogus PCN with a photo as their example, the legal bod rightly advised viewers to ignore it & make it into a paper aeroplane. Do watch it, very funny for someone like you and very reassuring:

This is such a common scam that almost everyone on this board has had at least one private parking ticket and ignored it (mine was over a year ago and the driver was allegedly there for four hours in a two hour private car park!). There is no risk in ignoring everything in the absence of sealed, genuine Court papers, which won't come. The only things to arrive will be the threatograms!

You can see a preview of the Debt Collector (powerless) letters to ignore, in thesticky 'PPC letter/threats, what to expect' near the top of this board. Look at the pics now, you can see what will come next and it will stop you panicking when you read their threats:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...play.php?f=163

Plus you'll see by the number of current threads (of which there are pages and pages!) on that link, just how common this scam is. This thread is one of hundreds! Read some threads on the link above, then look back pages and pages and pages - except for the odd Police or Council ticket and clamping case - all of those threads are from people like you.

All the same, all ignored, doesn't matter who the PPC is. Nothing will happen. NEVER pay a private parking ticket. Think no more of it apart from to spread the word.

    :T

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Its a free car park in the highly unlikely event that they took you to court, it would be determined that there is no loss due to you parking there, so they would get the grand sum of £0.00 if they were successful.

You got more chance of winning the lottery jackpot than that happening ;) enjoy keeping your money.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
  • Free photo's, how kind of them.

a woman that posted here said that she was given a Police Case Number after avoiding the correspondence
    Who? What? Where? Link?
  • If she has a case number then that must be the first time ever that the BIB have not said, sorry, not our problem its a ""Civil Matter""

I really think you're getting in a muddle! What's happened to your first post?

The Police might give you a case number if you've had a crime committed AGAINST you.

Britannia sending you 3 letters then giving up isn't a crime, and you ignoring those 3 letters isn't a crime either. Britannia are just about the most tame PPC you can get - they don't go near Court and we've already linked you to a thread showing pics of the letters they will send.

It's a pathetic scam now please just calm down & ignore their bogus ticket & letters.
