What is the 3, 7, 10 day trick?

Start it at 3 days. Then, 12 hours and a few minutes before it's due to end, revise the item to 5 days, repeat as necessary. it keeps you higher up the listings.

Don't use BIN unless you want to have to relist it several times.

I would always use Buy It Now for phones. They generally sell for more. As long as you have set your preferences to exclude those as mentioned above and offer immediate payment via Paypal with shipping only to a verified Paypal account then you can be well covered.

I personally would not buy a phone from a seller that didnt offer Paypal and who wanted cash direct into their bank....far too risky in the mobile phone market on eBay with no redress whatsover.
  • My problem with BIN is that it's all too easy for a scammer / time-waster / idiot to click on BIN.

Bang! Your listing is gone. You have fees to reclaim. You have a dispute to faff around with. You have re-listing to do.

I prefer an auction - at least that way I have days to identify potential problem bidders, and I don't have to deal with them when they click BIN.

Sorry to keep bumping this .....

1 last question and then I'm ready to list it.

The phone is a new 3G phone and has been supplied with a 3G sim card. Should I send this with the phone or is it linked to me somehow? Or should I sell it without a sim card?

I have loads of freebie 2G sim cards, but will they work with a 3G Phone?

    Thanks again

ive heard someone on here say that you should be careful when selling phones with sim cards? - someone said that if someone buys the phone with sim card and then does somethin seriously wrong with it (eg prank calls etc) the sim card will be traced back to you - especially if the police get involved (someone correct me if im wrong please)

im not sure about the 2g sim card question lol!!

It's ok I've advertised it without the sim card. Better to be safe than sorry isn't it.

Thanks again to everyone who replied to this thread. :money:

I prefer BIN on phones but you must use "immediate payment required" stops the idiots and hopefully the scammers.
