in Credit cards
Just a question on why my partner could have been rejected for his tesco credit card.
Few bits of info about him - Hes 24, He has never had a credit card before, has savings in his isa, has never had a bank charge, sometimes in his overdraft but not on a regular basis, he has a student loan, never been late on any phone bill or payment.
We live together, im a student and got a tesco credit card when we were living in our old flat, and got a 2000 limit. He has applied while we are at our new flat and where we have had to return lots of letters for a lady who owes money to alot of different organisations. Could this affect his credit rating? Hes signed up for the experian £2 check. He has 21 days to reply, just wondering what do you think the best way forward is?
Hope this makes sense and thanks in advance for any advice

You need to know that don't matter who lived in your house b4 you,if they were bankrupt or never payed a bill in their life it will not effect your credit rating, the reason you can not get credit is down to you not joe bloggs who lived in the house b4 you.0 -
Hey rooster, its a weird way they do it isnt it... You'd think theyd realise that people move! Totally unfair! We are renting atm, but we stay here and apply for a mortage somewhere else we'd prob get laughed away if he cant even get a credit card with a tiny limit!0

I've highlighted the main reason for you. He may need to start lower.0 -
Start lower? What do you mean? He didnt request any credit limit...0

I mean with a less picky provider - an aqua or Vanquis for example.0

I'd ask him to approach his bank before going this route.Deleted_User wrote: »I mean with a less picky provider - an aqua or Vanquis for example.0
