Also, not sure if anyone can help but how on earth do I go about finding a babysitter during the day?? I have a couple bits I need to attend over the next couple of weeks and DH just doesn't have the time off. Everything I can find is all about evening/weekend babysitting :(.

I put a wanted on net mums childcare section. I was lucky and had a reply from a lovely student midwife who is happy to do days or evenings as long as she's not on shift.

I'm glad hubby's feeling better, Krystal but grr for making you get up.

I'm just eating a cheese toasty while my baby bird watches every mouthful, even though he has already eaten a massive bowl of porridge.

    Morning

Last day of the school holidays here and I don't want the boys to go back tomorrow :(

Lashing it down with rain, so we're not going out visiting anywhere. Need to go to Tesco for some groceries and promised James he could have a front door key, so we'll have to go and see the key cutting man at the market.

Have a good day all xx
Here I go again on my own....

Morning. Eeeew, just had the biggest baby burp right in my ear, lovely. Even madam looked startled by it.

Noob question, I know they say babies can be put into a more upright position in their pram from about 3 months, but is there anything developmentally that I should be looking out for before I do it? I see a lot of babies just kind of slumped and floppy in their buggies and it doesn't seem like it would do them any good.

She isn't 3 months until October, but I don't want to start sitting her up too early and hurting her back.

I know yeah, I could have done with that extra 30mins!

My baby bird ate all of her own rice crispies and half of mine this morning! Little glutton... I bet she has a good go at the toast when we get to toddlers too...

Bex, I sat Aimee up at about 3 months but with Caitlyn it was closer to 5/6 months I think... If she's happy lying there then I don't think there's any need to rush... I left Caitlyn longer because I remembered how sad I felt when I looked down at Aimee sitting up and realising how quickly she was growing up lol...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

It's not quite the same thing Bexta, but I carried Molly in a Baby Bjorn and when she was about 3.5 months she was really craning her neck to nose at things happening around her so I switched her to forward facing. I wouldn't have done it before she had reasonable neck control though, my friend's baby was always outward in a sling from being teeny and her little head would flop all over the place.

I'd say that when they have enough head control that they won't be bouncing around on their shoulders over every little bump should be a good indicator :)

I just ordered a lovely navy polo shirt and a hat, mitten and scarf set from Vertbaudet for elliot for the lakes :)

We decided against the coat even though it was lush cos he has a winter coat from next that we think will fit him

Oh and I tried one of those swimming nappies on him eventually lol and they do fit him yay lol, I just need to order him a ring with a seat in now for the pool

What do those with 3ish year olds do with them. We go to playgroup (3 days a week), soft play, swimming, ice skating, bowling, library, park. In the house we do crafts baking. i'm at a loss for different things to do with her. If your replying could you kindly put scruffy in the post coz I don't always keep up.
    TIA
We go for walks in the village, visit various shops, play park and library. We also have National Trust Membership and annual membership at a local open air museum which Alice loves. When I get round to it we go swimming. At home Alice helps (or "helps" depending on what it is) with various things that I do such as cooking, cleaning, washing and gardening. She plays in the garden on her swing and trampoline or with balls, hula hoop or sticks (she likes to build "Eyore's house"). Indoors, she'll play independently (either with toys or colouring/drawing/"writing" or "reading" books) or I do things with her like reading, crafts, jigsaws, games, activity books.

Krystal and SS, thanks. Yeah, she is a nosy little begger so I'm sure she'll like being able to see more. Like you say Krystal, I'm not in any hurry for her to grow up just yet.
