    hi MFD,

glad to know i am not the only one confused as to what to buy when.

in our house at the minute, no toy is as good as any type of catalouge/mum's shoes/remote controls or her car

Buggies are good - but I won't buy one because Benjamin goes mad for them at the CM's!!!
I also won't buy a cosy coupe because he point blank refuses to get out of my friends when we visit - there is no way in this world that I am going to have that every time he goes outside.

Plus we have decking and then 2 steps, then a garden that has a step on 1 side and a slope on the other - not really cosy coupe friendly!
I would get him either something with a parent handle so you can help him along... Or something like a cosy coupe for this christmas and aim for something he can propel himself with next year...

I'm not Sami obviously... But I do like the look of my own typing :p

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

How about Happyland or something similar AF and Sami? Benjamin is very much liking his ATM and he is only going to grow into it more and more.

Or a play kitchen - Benjamin loves this too.

*try having a brother who bought his 2 boys EVERY toy under the sun and is now surrepticiously sneaking them into your house with every visit!!*

ah, see, you think like me (though more intelligent :D) .. i was thinking happyland or toy kitchen BUT we have a problem with Christmas as we will be back home. i am soooo not taking presents over or buying them there to bring back.

oh, we have something like the crazy coupe (had to google it to see what it was). it was given to us by my SIL who has used it for her two (now grown up children). she loves it and only thinks she's going to get her breakfast/lunch/dinner in it

i think she will have a christmas back home with pressies from my family and then stuff from us when we get back.

she is very much into buses/motorbikes/lorries .. well that is what she shouts out when we are in the car and buzz from toy story ... although saying that, she is scarily into cleaning!!!!

I might actually record the next one!

Maddy has Happyland for Xmas, was a Grabbit a while ago.

We save £60 a month for Xmas, so there's a fair bit there, although I've already used some. But I think that's alot, it does food too. We started the Xmas account a few years back one January and it worked well.
Too many children, too little time!!!

Sami can i be nosey and ask what you xmas budget is?(you can tell me to booger off) and anyone else that is willing to share, i normally just buy and buy but this year having a set amount would be good!
We've normally spent around £20 on Alice but this year will probably be around £40 because we spent £30 on Rose Petal Cottage.

ETA: Or did you mean overall budget?

Tis fine, I think my budget may be a bit extravagant compared to recent mumblings on here but this year its £100 for Chris and £75 for Edgar.
I did 1st Christmas £50, 2nd Christmas £75, 3rd+ £100, I might let it creep to £150 for say 5th but shall wait and see what gets asked for/things cost

 I don't think there's anything wrong with spending that much but where on earth do you find the space to put all that stuff?

  • Afternoon, just caught up. Susan I was thinking exactly the same thing. We live in a 2 bed flat, and I'm dreading having to find homes for everything after Christmas. I might have to move DH out into the garage ;)

it was for each child susan. Thanks for answering me as i tend to go a little mad! i have bought the bigger 2 net books,Abi a bike and Erin has a ELC wooden trike(from gumtree), i always end up skint as i want to get them lots but i know i need to stop that! so i may spend £50 more on the bigger 3 and then around £50 on the little 2 inc PJs etc. They are getting a PS3 between them from my sister as she got it free with her phone!

I have asked the to write 3 things they would really like and anything else is a bonus, megans list was :- a laptop, a blackberry and i cant remember the last lol!
What's for you won't go past you
  • Oh, and SB doesn't love me again . It let me win something this morning, but now it is not playing ball. I will have to give it an hour and try again I think.

I'm just enjoying a quiet hot chocolate while I do a few of my boring BP posts, then I need to see how much of the kitchen I can clean/tidy before my little helper wakes up ;)
