Just found a bit on the DLA tribunal. It is a tribunal where the claimant has to attend in person - that should be interesting when they question him! :p

Maybe it will be a good thing in the long run, as annoying as it will be to go there, but hopefully the person there making the decision should have some sense and be able to see that you and J need the support?

3, I meant to say that a friend of mine advocated for a friend of hers who has Down's syndrome. They had to go to a tribunal because the DLA was reduced on the grounds that he might have improved.

"So, do you still have Down's syndrome?"
    "Yes."
"Oh, ok then. *stamps form* DLA for you!"

Infuriating, and such a waste of time.

what an absolute waste of time :mad: and money :mad::mad:

it makes me  that some people seem to get awarded DLA no problems with 'fake' symptons etc and the people who genuinely need the money/DLA strugle to get it

It's so frustrating, I agree. FIL is has degenerative illness and they are already making him jump through stupid hoops in order to get a tiny bit of help because he's still working. He won't be able to for much longer, and the amount of stupidity they will have to wade through in order to get him permanent signed off is ridiculous.

The system isn't exactly great for helping those who CAN get better either - a friend is signed off with depression (suicide attempts and so on), but the mental health services offered to her are so rubbish it's going to be ages before she can be okay to work again. She WANTS to get better and it's in everyone's interest to get her better so she doesn't have to claim DLA or whatever, but still rubbish service.

Boiler being fixed again, but I have a sneaking feeling landlord is going to close their wallet to have it fixed 100% properly (needs a new part, engineer is just doing a temporary repair right now), which of course is stupid false economy because it's just going to break again in a month or so. *rolleyes*

3, that is so ridiculous. I'm :mad: on your behalf and hope you kick butt like you did with the camp.

Susan, it's probably for the best you don't know who Lady Gaga is - she wore a dress made of meat recently, 'nuff said.

Tara, Uggs are definately slippers to me. It reminds me of old ladies just nipping to the shops in theirs when I see people wearing them in public.

I always feel like a cranky old lady, but I find dresses made of meat/celebrities sitting in baths of beans/custard pies and stuff really distasteful. Food shouldn't be for wasting; we have enough in the world to feed everyone and yet people are starving while others are using it like an infinite disposable commodity.
