2000 points in the week before you redeem them. So you start with 1000 and verify email/mobile numbers to get another 1000, then post 10x drivel daily, you get to 10 000 the same day week after you started, but you have to play 2000 points so the ninth day you'll have your £5. The bonus is you can leave it on auto in the background and I think it plays 4 or 5 games for you so you don't have to watch, and if you're not sure how many you need to play before you redeem try to redeem and it tells you :)
Does that mean that it's better to redeem less frequently if it costs 2000 points to redeem?

Very cute picture. Alice has a dress like that which she uses as a painting dress (we were given a bag full of clothes - we didn't buy it specially). One day at a playpark there was a girl wearing one and she said, "That girl's wearing her painting dress."

Probably Susan, I imagine you could use it as a savings bank and redeem when you have loads. The other thing is, they process redeem requests on Thursdays only, so you have to get your request in by Wednesday 10pm.

We're home-educating. (Although it's not compulsory for her to be educated for another two years.)

Susan, can I ask what you're planning to make sure Alice is able to socialise with other kids? My brother was homeschooled and had no activities with kids his own age, which is why (I think) he is the way he is now. I'm sure you've thought about it though and was wondering what you've come up with :)

I thought you had said that, but wasn't sure.

    (Another) personal question... :o

what would you do if she asked to go to school at some point?

I've mention that my niece (13) is home educated (badly) and a few weeks ago, she was in tears because her mum has refused to let her go to school. She should be in second year, but her mum told her that they missed the registration deadline, which is a lie, its a rolling registration, she can be registered and go at any time. Finding it hard because I want to say something (that niece wants to go to school so she can do her standard grades and get into college) but... I can't really go and say anything because she is my niece, not daughter. The thing is, niece asks to go to school, gives valid reasons as to why she wants to, her mum says no, niece throws a strop and gets grounded for 2 weeks. Makes me feel very uncomfortable.

    ETA

Okay, so what I am really asking, is what would you guys do?

The way I see it, it is a form of child abuse (as much as I don't want it to be) especially as no reason is given for keeping her out of school when she has been asking to go (for the past 2 years so not a whim). And grounding her for throwing a strop is basically saying 'ask and you will be punished' since she is only throwing a strop because her views and opinions are being ignored. She is 13, not 8. And her education is poor. I've tried to look at it from non judgemental points of view, but there are no educational outings. He social life is being made up from church, dancing (which her mum is actually making excuses not to take her too), shopping and spending time with family of which she is the eldest 'child'. Occasionally she is allowed to go into town (they stay 5mins away from town) with other home schooled girls from church.

Or am I just sticking my nose in and should really just stay out of it?

And please don't quote this, I'll go back and delete it later, just in case.
  • Yippee - I still have a job, I go back tomorrow, they wanted me to start back straight away but what they have put me thorough has completely mashed my head for the day - my heart hasn't stopped racing since Tuesday last week, I didn't sleep last night, which would make me more of a liability today.

Out of 3 allegations they were only able to make one stick - but the job hunt is on in earnest.

Becles, Charlotte looks lovely, though it must be scary how quick they grow up.

*Hugs* to those feeling under the weather. It seems like there's a lot of sickness about at the moment.

:jMy books came! I'm really impressed with them, the learning pack even has 2 cds of nursery rhymes, which is fab cos I cannot remember them from being a kid.
