Alice makes up random stories. Although not quite the same genre as Keira's. I really love listening to her when she's "reading" because she makes up stories which are partly based on what she knows is in the story, partly based on whatever random things she notices in the pictures and partly totally made up random stuff. She has a storytelling voice too - it's really funny.Buttonmoons wrote: »Does anyone with older kids (like 3 +) - make up weird random storys? Like Keira will sit on the toilet and tell me she has to have a giant poop to feed the monster who lives in there, cause if he doesn't get fed he comes out and eats your eyeballs - Right okay.
Then today, I told her to take off her piashy pullup (grrr she still isn't dry) and to put it in the bin and she told me that, the nappy was upset in the bin because the cat food packet and the bread bag were being mean to it and it wasn't it's friend anymore.

I really don't think many children would be in Keira's insane barmy genreAlice makes up random stories. Although not quite the same genre as Keira's. Aw that's so sweet, she can read to the baby when he/she comes along. I'm actually just visualising you feeding the baba and Alice reading you both a story

a boy that my brother used to go to school with used to have fab stories he'd make up. as soon as he was able to his mum encouraged him to write them down
i think she was hoping that they might be good enough to be published as childrens stories.
dunno what happened to them. he's 30 now i wonder does he remember writing them??'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -

I can imagine her doing that. Yesterday when she was playing with the pretend babies I said to her, "If we had a real baby what would you do with it?" and her answer was, "Stroke it."Buttonmoons wrote: »Aw that's so sweet, she can read to the baby when he/she comes along. <snip>, but I was a thoroughly obnoxious child <snip>.
I don't believe that for a minute!
SM We had an [STRIKE]evil witch [/STRIKE]Nun in Primary, and she'd make us copy from the board, then decorate the margin (!!!!!!!) then put our hands up to ask if we could turn the page. If there was any mistakes or our writing/decoration was too messy she'd slap us with a ruler and rip the page out for us to start again! But I thought those type of teachers had been left back in the 70's/80's.
My daughter still makes crazy stories up at age 9 3/4's. We were telling her the other day to stop it because she's going to get herself, or someone else in trouble.
In Blackpool, within hearing range of lots of people she was saying "Mum, do you remember when you killed me, but then noticed and brought me back to life!"
In the Co-op I was buying a bottle of diet coke she tells the shop assistant that "Mum always puts vodka in her coke". I wouldn't have minded so much but I don't even like vodka and never have.
And the favourite. Getting V weighed at the HV last year, when she was only just about starting on food the HV was asking about what she was eating. I said she's pretty much trying anything we have and attempting to give everything a good suck. L tells her "we have McDonalds like all of the time and V has a happy meal with burger". At that point, she'd never even been into a McDonalds.:beer:0 -

Well that makes sense, they are nice and soft. How old is Alice now Susan? Are you going to put her to nursery when she is old enough or just teach her at home? I suppose nursery is mostly play, and interacting with other children though.
Keira told me today that a new girl ate some playdough and put some up her nose and that "Was real silly mum, cause that will make you sick!" and apparently some other boy ate some sand......
See this is all new to me, she has never eaten anything she shouldn't (bar a biscuit wrapper at age 10 months) so I find the idea that a kid would find sand tasty a bit boggling :rotfl:0 -

Should of said to points 1 2 and 3 -
"I shouldn't of brought you back to life
"
"I need the vodka to cope with your fibs
"
"Mcdonalds is 100% nutrition!"
Those are a bit  though as they could easily be presumed to be true (maybe not the killing and Jesus style ressurection though!)
Speaking of Jesus, and associated stuff. We were walking to nursery today and where her nursery is at the mo, it's beside a church, so Keira says to me -
K - That's my church
Me - Well it's not REALLY your church you know, you don't live there
K - Yes I do. I went with my nursery.
Me - Oh okay then. Did you learn about God?
K - No God wasn't there, we just talked about ladybirds.
Me - Do you know who God is?
K - Yes!! A ladybird *rolls eyes*
Oh my, I'm so silly for not knowing this :rotfl:0
