MCO Capital loan

Heard back from Equifax. They don't share info with Experian or vice-versa, so everyone has two credit reports!! How mad is that?0

Just spoken to Companies House about MCO. The details I have are still correct. They are listed as a NON-TRADING COMPANY.
Also had a chat with a very nice chap about the time delay in submitting information to Companies House and how long it takes to be sent out to credit checking agencies....end of september is very popular and it could take two weeks to update the information, so nothing's likely to happen for a while. He also suggested getting Watchdog involved when I explained what was going on.0 -
I have filled out an online form on BBC web site suggesting this issue as a possible Watchdog subject. The more people who do the same, the more chance of success? Here's the web url;

Nice idea, but I work in that industry, so I think you'll find that by the time a researcher has been allocated, and the director has had a scheduling meeting with the scripting team, and they've looked for a broadcast slot, you won't be seeing anything about MCO until 2012.
They may well be interested, but it's nowhere near immediate enough to cause trouble when it's needed.
I've had a response from Companies House, which goes:
Companies Investigation Branch (CIB) has the responsibility for
conducting investigations into companies using the statutory powers of
enquiry contained in the Companies Act 1985. When we receive a
complaint it goes through a vetting process to decide whether it merits
an investigation. I enclose an information sheet on our work.
We will be considering your complaint, taking into account any other
information we have, will decide whether to carry out a formal
investigation. As part of that consideration we may contact you to seek
more information.
Hopefully enough bodies taking an interest, will begin to turn over some stones.
BTW my "loan letter" was also for the Nordea Bank Finland
Compliments to the various contributors to this thread, amazing what you've found out, and what you've done about it. Shouldn't somebody send ActionFraud a link, so they can get an idea of how to do it? :rotfl:0 -
Action Fraud are now on the ball!
I called them and spoke to a very nice chap who took all my details and issued me with a Crime Reference Number! According to him there have been many hundreds of calls made about MCO and these are now being passed on to the Fraud Office. He still advised me to write to MCO at their Portland House address.
I also bit the bullet and rang the number on my letter. The call was answered "Thank you for calling Intrum Justitia" and then hung up, so I then found another number for them on their website and rang that. I couldn't take the conversation very far as I was not prepared to disclose my DOB to the bloke on the end of the line.0 -

I have already referred Action Fraud to the forum and I can assure fellow scribes that they are aware of this forum and its contents. That said, I have been trying to contact them today without success - I want to keep the pressure on them as they are an important means of escalating the issue. I am essentially trying to convince them that the world has moved on since they made their 10 Sept post re MCO etc on their website. Others should contact them as well as the more pressure the better.0 -

When I made contact with them via local police, I had to give them permission to speak to the PC and they asked for my DoB - I asked why? Then I asked them what DoB they had - they told me and I said that was fine. That is, I neither confirmed or denied - that seemd to satisfy them and as far as the PC was concerned my loan was cancelled!!!

Action Fraud have just updated their web site message asking people to use their "online fraud reporting tool". This is a BIG change - however, the online form is impossible to complete (I always get stuck at the "fraud type" stage) so you will still likely have to call 0300 123 20400
