  • Hi Geomac

Thanks for sharing your reply. Do you know what the 'general insurance business' is that Experian provides? This is news to me!

    Hi Pru
The following is an extract from a recent email received from Experian (CreditExpert)
"Find out which credit deals you're most likely to be accepted for, before you apply.
As a previous member of Credit Expert we can find you credit in four easy steps without damaging your credit status. We can help find the best possible rates available to you by assessing your circumstances and recommending the deals you are most likely to be accepted for."
They appear to be brokers for such things as loans, credit cards and mortgages - they will also help you find the best deal for your energy supplies!!!!
A definite conflict of interests I would maintain!!

Hi Folks, just checked the OFT Consumer Credit Licence search web-site, and found these new licences applied for yesterday by MCO Capital. Beware the following names

    Trading Names:

    Paycheckcredit: Pending
    Popcredit: Pending
    Speedcredit: Pending

Take it they're ditching the old Helploan and Balanceloan trading styles.

 Surely the OFT won't touch them with a barge-pole - or am I being hopelessly naive?

I sincerely hope not, Prudence BUT I have no confidence that these licences will be refused

    Fine research yet again grahamqat!!:T

WOULD THE OFT REPRESENTATIVE MONITORING THIS SITE PLEASE LOOK INTO THESE NEW MCO APPLICATIONS!!!!!!!!:money:

  • Thanks Geo - my money says licences will be granted Pru. Also expect they'll be trading from web-sites before this date. Scam 2 - the sequel - brought to you courtesy of the OFT. (Sorry cant resist the conspiracy theory stuff!) At least this latest twist might breathe life into an otherwise quiet thread.

Now can I interest you in an MCO Capital Christmas hamper? Only £300 this week, (£513 by Boxing day)! Oh and we want the wicker basket back.

Nice one grahamqat - you choice of a wicker basket is highly appropriate - MCO are a basket case and OFT needs to acknowledge this!!!
  • Cheers Geo - never made that connection! Will keep my eye on emergent web-sites.
  • Yes great research GQ. I simply can't believe the brass neck of MCO Capital applying for new licences. Presumably as soon as these new websites are up and running, fraudsters will be testing them with our stolen IDs and we'll have the exact same charade playing out.

You have to wonder what debt collection agency or CRA would want to work with MCO Capital now?

I think I'll write to Experian telling them under no circumstances are they to allow searches of my credit report under these new names - not that it will make any difference.

Go for it, Prudence - please let us know how you get on - if it works, then we could all follow your lead!!:T
