No tv reception HELP!!

Hi, can anyone help?have got a LCD built in free view tele. Had a digital aerial and 4 new points fitted for other tv's in house a year or so ago.All okay at first then picture started to freeze then go all blocked. The main tv has an antiference box at back of tv and masthead boosters on aerial. When this happened I just use to jiggle the box and picture came back on,this by the way only happened on ITV Ch4 and 5 and some but not all free view channels. Now this past month I cant get any digital stations only BBC 1 2and ITV 1 on analogue and this is only because have plugged in an indoor aerial. Had an aerial guy come out and he checked TV and signals. said that signal was coming down aerial but not into TV. He put a 25amp booster on his meter and got a picture but said was not to buy one because it will frazz the aerial!! He didnt know what was wrong but didn't check the aerial on roof please help am not good at all this stuff so be gentle with me

have you plugged it into the other points, and rescanned, any other tv's work?

Is the aerial pointing in the same direction as others in your area?

Did he forget his ladders, hope you didn't pay him.

Yes have tried all other tv's all the same Have looked at all neighbours aerials and they all point in different directions I think he was just trying to flog me £300 worth of other stuff

can you get analogue on any tv, on any point - if so what is the picture like? Take the antiference booster out of the loop.

All the neighbours point in different directions? Do any point the same as yours, and are the elements aligned the same way, horizontally/vertically.

Rescan the freeview using rooftop aerial and unplug any other tv's while you do it.

Analogue picture all wavy have tried all which way with antiference in out even bought a new one!!
Yes that's right live on lane with only 30 others and all are pointing in different directions!!

Sorry didn't get all your message, have tried many times to re tune free-view with roof aerial but no digital channels at all when I check on tv for digital signal it says poor

Connections on the Antifernce PSU are loose.

It's very unusual for aerials to be pointing in lots of different directions, ask the neighbours if they are having problems and check if there are any problems with the transmitter, if you can work out which one you are pointing at.

If analogue doesn't work well either, and you have tried different tv's using different coax, then you appear to have a problem with the aerial/downlead, or masthead amp, so really need a competent aerial engineer to resolve it.

You must have managed to get the most incompetent gimp in the phone book.

TV aerial systems are simple. If the signal is making it from the roof to the masthead amp then not to all the TVs then the amplifier is the problem. If its just one TV it could be the cabling between the amp or that channel on the amp - something easily diagnosed by swapping connections at the amp end. Next port of call is the cable between the socket on the wall and the TV - easily diagnosed by swapping the cable for a good known working one from another TV.

I have no idea what an "antiference" filter is. I assume its some sort of high pass filter. Personally, unless you're getting interference from CB radio or amateur radio operators, I'd take it out. In fact, such a thing should actually be placed BEFORE the amplifier so that the amplifier doesn't pick up the interference and amplify it, thus making it worse.
