  • I am very keen too to find out when this toy sale is as I completely missed it last year.

I have been very reliably informed (from an acquaintance who is a Sainsbury's employee) that the sale will start after Halloween and will be done in stages and will depend on the age of the child.

Now despite the reliability of my source, I will still be keeping my ear to the ground; as when it comes to Sales you have to keep your wits about you just in case someone somewhere is trying to mislead you!!!

However if others have heard November then what I have been told may well be spot on.

Done in stages? I hope this is not true.
I just want to be able to shop in one go!
  • Not sure if this has been posted but my friend has heard the toy sale starts on 27 October ...
  • Ok, just seen a few other posts saying 27 Oct as well ... :)
  • I doubt it will be done in stages, over the past three years it's been all toys half price. Bosh! The 27th looks promising although for the past two years at least, they've started on a Thursday.
I remember in 2008 I was at the store when it opened and most of the staff didn't know what was going on, the check out woman couldn't believe it!
  • I actually wrote in this years diary the date of last years half price toy sale, it was I believe Online at Midnight of Wednesday 28th October, so really crossing over into Thursday 29th October, I would suspect it will be at a very similar period this year so this would make it Wednesday 27th Oct 2010 Midnight-Thursday 28th Oct 2010. So worth people staying up on the Wednesday just to see.
Also be aware on Sainsbury's own website forum last year a staff member categorically denied there would be an online sale, only for the sale to start online later the same day. I think the staff are generally kept in the dark to stop excess online shoppers at the change over time for the sale items.
Just because your paranoid does not mean they are not out to get you ! :rotfl:
  • Surely Sainsburys will have to advertise it, at the very least the day before?

I work at Sainsburys and have no idea when it is! I even asked the staff on that department and they don't know either! They may, of course, be keeping it quiet though lol
  • Are you allowed to put items aside or is that forbidden? I would if I was allowed. ha ha

In my local store (huntingdon) they have half price on large car type toys ie garage, 'like hot wheels' track, etc. They weren't reduced on prices in toy aisle but were all stacked at the end of a random aisle. I am very pleased as got the track I have been waiting for in the big sale so hopefully no tempation if and when it starts!!!;);):T:T
