I was at the Castle Vale store at 8am this morning and the place was rammed with people, trolleys and toys.
Managed to get a couple of things that I wanted (Minotaurus, Postman Pat vehicles) and a few extras but resisted spending way way too much.
When I left at about 9am the shelves looked empty in places but I spotted cages of toys up by the clothing at the back of the tills. The lady on the checkout also told me that they had been receiving loads of stock for the last two days but didnt know if they were due any more.
Hope everyone managed to get what they wanted.0 -
Went to Sainsburys Hedge End, quite a few toys left and more being put out. However BE AWARE! I don't know if it's been said in this thread at all, but alot of the toys are old stock.
We got a Fisher Price Roll-a-Rounds Jungle Friends Treehouse Gift Set, £24.99 http://www.sainsburys.co.uk/sol/shop/toys_and_games/baby_and_pre_school/activity_toys/120084368_fisher_price_rollarounds_treehouse_set.html?Affiliate_ID=googlesp
The item says "was £49.99" which we thought sounded expenseive. So I called Fisher Price, apparently the Roll-a-Rounds line is from 2005/6 and the RRP for this particular item back then was £25!
Called Sainsburys, the woman said that the only thing she could think of is that the buyers had set the wrong price and was going to send me a gift card for £12.50
Looking at some of the other products on offer, they are also old stock so I'd be very careful of whether they are actually half price at all. We've also got a Sainsbury's own dolls house (£49.99), but we're wondering if that was really originally at £99.99. A Sainsbury employee was telling us that at £49.99 it was a really good price, now the cynic in me is wondering whether they've been told to push that item!
I can almost see an investigation here as to how many of the items have been marked up 2x to be sold in the sale (a tactic that many places have used!).0 -
I paid using the self checkout but did not put anything in bags as they were mainly big boxes, as I was walking out happy with my purchases I heard this person running behind me shouting 'excuse me', I turned round to find the security guard chasing me!!!!!!! I looked in astonishment having just forked out over £100 to Sainsburys, my look must have said it all as I asked if he would like to see my receipt..........poor chap must have had a heart attack running that fast at that time in the morning, he was breathless! I am a regular shopper in that store and so I think he recognised me immediately and didn't even check the receipt just saw that I had one! Vey embarrassing though!
PS Has anyone seen the cube game in the sale or is that only online?0 -
You've just got to be sensible I suppose. I only bought items which I'd happily pay full price for too IYKWIM and not just buying it because it was half price.0

Did anyone see the lego city fire station or garage in store or is that not on sale? i really wanted this and the girls razor scooter but neither at my store in leicester0

I think tha roll around fisher-price toy was the same price in the Tesco sale in my local store. I didn't buy it because there was no way that i thought it was originally £49.99.0

So, so true! Quite a lot of items in Cheshire Oaks Sainsburys were there last year!! Do they wheel out whatever they don't seell the previous year... I think so! I work for a large retailer but we don't do that with items that haven't sold they are returned to the supplier!Hoping to save a little more money here and there, to spend on treats/educational items for children :j0 -
have just gone on line and it is now advertising the 1/2 price sale in there tried to get into it but not working server must be playing up will keep trying! Gxx0
