    Get the Barbie out!!!

My daughter had a Barbeque at the evening do of her wedding, it was a summer wedding, even so, the food although cooked outside had to be brought in to be kept hot. Nice though. There was a veggie option, cooked separately.
Recently went to a wedding evening do and it was hog roast which went down a treat but no veggie option and some of us went hungry :(

The wedding we were at a couple of weeks ago had a hog roast as the main part of the buffet - and it was absoloutely delicious :) Not sure how much it cost though. One of the ushers did the job of cutting it up for the guests which was a nice touch.
Getting married to a wonderful lady on August 10, 2012.

Need to save up, lose weight, reduce my money worries and get back to being the real me! :j

Hog Roast, is about £500 for a pig that would serve 50 people. add on rolls, apple sauce, salads and crockery/cutlery hite, and its just as expensive as having a formal sit down meal - some companies dont even oversee the cooking of the pig in that price, they expect you to man the spitroast, yourself

as for the usher doing the cutting up, its either get a guest to do the work, or pay the hogroast company an extra £200 to have staff present

  • Our hogroast was no where near that much, we booked through the hotel and it was £800 for 120 people but a friend of mine had a hog in a field that she hired herself and it was £400 for 250 people.

£400 for 250 people, please find out and post the details. for 250 people you would need at least 2 large pigs, so thats one heck of a bargain - the meat alone would have cost more than £400 retail, without factoring in hire of the spitroast and gas

  • We must have had super massive pigs then cos we didn't use all of a pig for 120, I'm not sure it was much more than half!

Will ask her where she booked, was a year or two ago now.

dont think it matters what time of yeear it is
i was a june bride and had a hot and cold buffet for evening guests

i must say though the thing that went down the best was rolls and sausage and bacon

we also had the normal pizza, sausage rolls, baguettes, rolls, sandwiches, wraps, cake, teas and coffees.
