Fast 4 dial up

Hi, have been with Fast 4 dial up for almost one year, they have reduced my monthly subscription to £4.99 24/7 , good value for me. However, is anybody still on with them, always been great, but this last week hard to connect and cuts me off in mid stream? Phoned them, and they said would check it out. Regards oap

Oap,
I've had the same problem recently, but thought no more of it as I just sent my emails by my other isp.
You can log in on their site as they have a list of site problems they've incurred and how they resolved them.
Just copied their last notice from their site but it doesn't say anything that covers it all really.
Authentication Fault - *RESOLVED*
At half past ten last night (the 14th September) a problem developed on the Primary authentication server; this meant that both ADSL and dialup customers who were attempting to connect would have been unable to do so due to the authentication server being unavailable. Customers already connected would not have been affected by this problem (only reconnecting users).
This problem has been under investigation since we were aware of an issue at 1am this morning and the problem has been fully resolved as of 8:20am - customers should now find that they are able to reconnect without issue now but if you are using an ADSL router for your connection you may need to reboot your equipment to ensure a connection can be established.
We appologise for any inconvinience this may have caused and continue to monitor the situation to ensure this problem does not resurface.

Father in law is with Fast4 and had a similar problem getting connected yesterday. Tried for about an hour with no luck. I logged into their site and saw the same message however the dates are from over 1 week ago and there is no new update. Will try again today.0

I've been with Fast4 dial up for 3 or 4 years now. The service seems to be gradually going down hill recently. I've had problems connecting this weekend and again today. Emails getting delayed/lost today.
This has given me the final push. Ive just signed up to Virgin Broadband today.0 -
For the past 2 nights I've been cut off for over an hour each time, I'm willing to put up with it for a while though because ISP's do sometimes get problems and for £4.99 a month it's worth giving them some leeway.
I think outside the box - I can also think round corners.

Thought some of you who are new to FAST 4 might wish to have a look at this thread! In the bad old days Fast 4 had a few problems but when everyone migrated to BB (includes me now) the service got better and better. But now they have reduced the price to £4.99 a month which is excellent, I guess they have had a upsurge in numbers, so you may get some problems. Hard to find better value though if you only need dialup. Check out this thread:

Have to agree with Theloft a lot of the E7 gang signed up for dial-up when they got stung.
But for £4-99 a month unlimited there`s no better value.
Can`t say I`ve noticed any difference in the service of late, although I don`t spend a great deal of time on it in the evenings.0
