After reading about the new fees in the paper, just checked the current prices.
What a rip-off.
They go on about it being necessary due to incresed checks etc but if you are only renewing haven't these checks already been carried out?
Yet another stealth tax.
I think I would prefer a big increase in income tax, at least it is transparent then.

I was hoping to renew mine before the price hike.... but I'm getting married next year so it would be pointless
I was hoping to renew my passport with my married name, so it would only be valid after my wedding day - but I can only do this three months in advance. Boo!!!

Ihaven't renewed my passport since we got married, a friend told me you only get what is left of your current passport so I am going to say I lost mine and get a whole new one! Think I'll be doing it asap those prices are ridiculous!!:mad:DFW no.630!
