laptop problems!

I have tried portforward but that did not help. Basically, I have had loads of help last night and have fixed all the problems except 1, I need someone to help me access secure servers and log on 2 msn. When I troubleshoot on msn the problem it finds is with the key ports and says it could be due to improper proxy or firewall settings. How can I fix these as I dont even know what firewall is on this computer as I got it 2nd hand?!

  • is there a paper clip hole in the disk tray, if so, shove one in, it should open it.

Do you have a 3rd party firewall installed?

Go to Internet Explorer properties, advanced, then enable SSL.

You will also need to open the port 443 on your firewall

As for not being able to download, you need open correct port/s for whatever program you are using. Are you using a router?

  • Download firefox if you aren't using it already, a much better browser than IE. Http://www.firefox.com <- and it's free :)
