Advice on decent smart phone for under £150
Hi there
I'm looking to buy my husband a decent phone for his birthday. Under £150 but nearer £100 ideally. We are both tied into good value contracts with unlimited web access to looking for a handset only or unlocked on a payg.
I'm not really sure about all the different technology stuff to be honest but I guess looking for something along the lines of an iphone but obviously cheaper. It would be used for calls, texts and web browsing and anything else it comes with I guess.
Anyone have any suggestions of handsets that may fall into this group or any good websites to look on?
I keep seeing things about android phones, is it best to get one of these?
Many thanks

If you're on T-Mobile, go for the Pulse Mini (clicky). It uses the Android operating system, but a slightly older version. If Hubby likes it, then it gives him a good idea of what to upgrade to next time.
On Orange, you can get the LG Optimus (clicky). It's at the top of your budget, but has an awful lot of goodies built in including a radio with RDS, wifi and an ok camera. Once again, it's an android phone.
On O2, you could go for the Blackberry Curve (clicky) which is great for texting and e-mails but not good on the apps front. They also have the LG Optimus (clicky) and it's cheaper than the Orange one.
If you're on Vodafone, give up.In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -
Thanks very much for all those suggestions, that gives me a few options to look at. We're on the O2 network for reference.
