The spanner icon on the top right brings up the settings menus etc.

Sending links to someone; why don't you just copy and paste the link into the email body?

Use the Opera Browser. Then go to Menu > Mail and Chat Accounts > (Put in your POP and SMTP settings).

Now the next time you need to send a page or a link, all you need to do is, 'right click' > send by mail > .... If sending to someone in your contact list, you can go from the page to sending an email with the link in under five seconds.

I don't use Google Chrome as I don't like that they add unnecessary processes during the installation, like the Google Updater.

Opera is just much more useful as an everyday browser., with it's built in Torrent and email clients etc. No need to have unnecessary programs and processes running on your machine when they are not needed.

That doesnt have a file or edit though :(

I find it very convenient as in FF to just click and send.

There's a Google Extension (Click Spanner/Extensions) called "Send from Gmail" that you can install. However, as the name suggests it assumes Gmail is your default Email application.

I use Opera almost exclusively...Firefox has gotten to the point where it is so bloated full of add-ons and bells and whistles to actually push it back 10,000 years in evolutionary terms.

What happened to having a simple clean browser that does exactly what it is supposed to?

Internet Explorer is for libraries that do not have a clue what they are doing. Pretty much the worst of the bunch and incredibly slow.

  • I get fastest speeds on Chrome (speedtest.net), but do most of my browsing in Firefox - add ons do it for me. Email notifier, RSS Ticker, propertybee, downloadhelper.

I have Opera for when I need to log into a second email/facebook account and cant be bothered logging on of the one I'm on.

Firefox is definately getting worse. I've noticed a massive increase in CPU usage on the most recent updates (3.5 / 3.6)

I used to use Firefox but it got slow.

Then I switched to IE8 as I read in an article it was the safest browser but it was slow.

Now using Google Chrome which has been great.

Long time Opera user here, and when you have got into the Opera habit there really is no other browser worth looking at. Customised how I like it - the great thing about it is that it is infinitely customisable, you can take off those buttons you never use, add others that nobody else has, and change the skin to whatever. I must admit that I don't like their currently default setup, which puts some people off. Great browser but it gets unfair criticism - and SECURE...
