Not getting broadband speed I should be

    I just tested my speed with thinkbroadband and I got

    speed down - 0.5Mbps
    speed up - 0.6Mbps

    woe is me.

    I get 20mbit with Virgin which is usually around 18mbit.

    Try that, I suspect you are 3+miles from one? I think TB use BT lines.... most do.
