Burlesque_Babe wrote: »thinking about getting some new curtains for the living room. The ones in it are functional, but are a thin IKEA pair I bought from ebay when I moved here and dyed brown. They have faded on the window side from the sun and are incredibly thin. I have a house that's hard to heat in the winter and even with double glazing it feels cold near the window. I have also been thinking lately that even after 6 years here my house still feels like a 'house', not a home and that it just lacks a bit of...........I don't know.........warmth and 'feeling' to it.
You could have them made BB. I have full length floor to ceiling patio doors on one wall. Let in amazing light but not great for heat retention. The walls are cream, the sofa is primrose yellow and the curtains are a really thick cream fabric with purples, reds and greens running through in leaves and flowers. The cushions match the curtain colours. Works really well and keeps the heat in.
